The wrong advice you'll hear
Post at 9am Tuesday, use lots of emojis, always ask a question at the end, never link out. This is the advice optimized for 2021, not 2026. LinkedIn has moved.
The honest advice
Post when you actually have something to say. Write for the specific reader who can hire you or buy from you. Don't chase engagement — chase the right 50 pairs of eyes.
Three post formats that work
Specific, contrarian take (with receipts). Detailed behind-the-scenes breakdown. Vulnerable story about a real business moment. All three go long — 250+ words.
The long game
Expect 6–12 months before compound interest kicks in. The early months are planting. Founders who keep at it past month six are the ones who eventually get inbound deals from a single post.
