Why internal linking is undervalued

It's not glamorous. No one brags about their internal-linking project. But it's often the lowest-effort, highest-return fix in an SEO program.

The first three fixes

Link to money pages from high-authority content; add exact-match anchors where natural; kill links pointing to low-value pages (contact-us, privacy, cookies) that dilute authority.

The next three fixes

Build an HTML sitemap, consolidate redundant nav links, and use category pages as hub spokes. Every high-authority page should link to 3–7 commercial pages intentionally.

The measurement play

Tag links with UTM params to measure click-throughs and downstream conversions. Internal links aren't just for crawlers — they're product guidance for users.
